Smokey's Red Flame

Little Comet is doing well. I put a halter on him yesterday and attempted to teach him to lead. It was quite the show. Actually he did ok and then when I put the lead rope around his haunches to encourage him to move forward, well . . . he did some nice moving then-lol!
He has a very friendly and curious nature. He is also learning people are not play mates- after I received a nice softball sized bruise on my thigh.

Bryce playin' ball

Bryce is playing baseball. His team is called the Mariners. He is excited to play. During the last game he hit the ball everytime and didn't have to use the tee. He was happy about that.

Nutters kits

I thought this was a cute picture. The kittens are getting bigger and stronger. They have survived Ronnie's handling of them (so far. . . :( )
SnowFlake is the white kitten, Clove is gray and white, and Muddy is the tortoise shell. The orange tabby is named FireStar. Anyone want a kitten??

Three months old

Wow, it is hard to believe but the boys are 3 months old now. They are starting to smile more regularly. They enjoy being held and snuggled. They both look intently at the person holding them. They sleep 3-5 hours at a time. They eat very well. Alex weighed 8 lbs 12 oz on Friday and Danny weighed 9 lbs. Tomorrow the homecare nurse comes and we shall see what the new numbers are. I only give them 1 liter of oxygen blown by when they feed. I wish they slept more at night, though. They are much stronger, holding their heads up well and they have nice strong cries. We sure love these cuties!

Comet

Well, try as I might, I was unable to get a better picture than this one. Comet kept moving around and trying to sniff the camera-

Nutmeg births her kittens

Well, the last expectant mother has had her babies. She had them under Michaela's bed, so its hard to get good pictures. There are four of them. One orange tabby, two that look like Nutter and perhaps a tortoise shell. More pictures to come as they get older.

"2 weeks old"

Tess, the great big sis
Michaela, the great big sis
Yummy! (doesn't Danny look worried?)
I have a secret
Alex and Danny

Well, we have made it to 2 weeks home from the hospital. The boys sleep longer during the day than at night which is ok if I got in bed before 12am :(
They both weigh 8lbs 6 oz as of Friday. They are eating well and are awake for about 2 good hours hanging out and checking out the world (not counting fussy and eating times).
They seem quite alert and focus well on the person they look at. Perhaps they will start to smile soon.

Babys' first road trip

We went to the doctor's office on Monday for their one week appt. It was quite the experience toting two lil' ones. Grandma came along to help. Alex weighed 8lbs 5 oz and Danny weighed 8lbs 3 oz. The doctor said they look great (calling Alex: Jabba the Hutt and Danny: Budda). It is so amazing that they are doing so well and look like term babies. They sleep a bunch and are eating so well. The boppy is now my friend (after I figured it out-a fried brain doesn't help). I also realized Alex and Danny needed to stay on the same monitor because they are being recorded-duh! Hopefully after more sleep my thought processes will improve.

Romy eats an apple

Romy was kind enough (or something) to wait to give birth after me and the boys came home from the hospital. She looks huge and uncomfortable. We certainly hope the birth is sometime tonight!

Bryce's big day

Bryce and Paul before the baptism
Bryce had a wonderful day. There were lots of loved ones that attended and some who wanted to come but were unable to. We sure love you Bryce and are proud of you and your decision to join the Lord's church.

WOOT!

The babies did a twelve hour eating trial in which they ate 4 meals consecutively. They had to eat 70% each time. They did marvelously!!! Tomorrow we do the 24 hour trial and if they do well with that, they do a 24 hour session mimicking what they would do at home. Then its time to go home!!!! And no pe, Romy is still pregnant.
